아무리 듣고 또 들어도 안들리는 건 어떻게 해야 할까요?
모든 영어 뉴스방송이 대본을 제공해주면 좋겠지만 그렇지 않은 것이 현실이고
그렇다고 서점에 가서 대본이 있는 뉴스스크립트를 몽땅 다 사는 것도 한계가
있고 모두 구입해서 공부한다 해도 그 수는 부족하고 . . . .

영어 방송을 테이프에 듣고 또 들어도 안들릴 때는 어떻게 하는 것이
좋을지 조언을 구합니다.

1. 그래도 계속 같은 내용을 반복 청취한다
2. 한계를 인정하고 다른 걸 듣는다

교수님께선 어떤 방법으로 이러한 어려움을 극복하시고 영어 정복의 최정상에
오르셨는지 여쭈어봐도 괜찮은가요?
옛날엔 지금보다도 대본과 영어 테이프 판매량이 훨씬 적었을텐데 . . . .

어학은 재능을 타고나야 하는 것이겠지만 노력으로 어느정도까지 정복할 수 있는지
너무나 궁금합니다.

제가 감히 추가로 약간만 보충해드리면.
영어리스닝이 안들리는 이유.
1.어휘력..(단어..숙어 구동사 등등)각 단어의 발음 포함.
2.직청직해능력
3.연음구별능력
4.배경지식이 없을때
5.속도에 적응이 안됬을때.
5가지중에 어떤 원인때문에 안들리는지 밝혀주셔야..

영어 방송을 테이프에 듣고 또 들어도 안들릴 때는
우선 어휘력이 부족한 겁니다. 모르는 단어는 들리지 않습니다.
자신이 바로 발음할 수 없는 단어라야 귀에 들어옵니다.
따라서 어휘력을 늘이고 바른 액선트로 정확히 발음하는
연습을 하세요.

저는 통역 공부를 하면서 <어휘력 뿐 아니라 상식과 정보를 늘이기 위해 많이 읽고 듣는 공부를 해야한다>는 것을 조금씩 깨달아 갔지만 아무도 진작 그런 요령을 가르쳐 주는 사람이 없었습니다.

그걸 알았다면 그렇게 어렵지는 않았을 겁니다.
나는 대학원 제자들에게 입학 직후부터 <많이 알아야 들리고, 많이 알아야 통역을 잘 할 수 있다>고 강조합니다. 확실히 알면 말은 그냥 나옵니다. (끝)

빠른 답변 감사합니다. 교수님 말씀대로 즉각 입에서 발음할 수
없는 부분이 잘 안들리더군요.
그런데 황당한 것은 아무리 들어도 안들리는 부분을 나중에 대본
이 있는 경우 확인을 해보면 이미 잘 알고 있는 단어인 경우도 있
고 잘 안들리던 똑같은 문장을 다른 아나운서가 발음하면 ( CNN 뉴스의 경우 같은 뉴스를 시간별로 각기 다른 아나운서가 전해주기도 합니다) 잘 들리기도 합니다. 이러한 현상은 아직 물리적으
로 영어 듣기가 안된다고 봐야 할까요?
간단한 문장도 영화를 볼때는 거의 안들리고 좀 길고 어려운 문장
일지라도 아나운서가 발음하면 잘들리기도 하니 아무래도 아직
영어 발음에 노출이 덜 된 듯 합니다.
한 명 한 명 일일이 답해주시고 자세히 조언해주신 교수님께 감사

제가 약간 만 더 보충을 하자면
1.어휘력(표현력) 영화 드라마나 뉴스에나오는 어휘나
관용어를 모를때 안들리는 경우는...방법이 따로 없을겁니다
우리나라 뉴스도 우리나라 용어를 몰라서 안들리는 경우는
어쩔수 없는거죠.....
그런데 어느정도 어휘수준에 이르면 계속 들리게 됩니다.
사실 뉴스도 어느정도 어휘에서 반복되기 때문이죠.
전 약 3만단어 가량으로 추측하는데요.
그러다가 하나씩 모르는 단어는 암기해주고요.
우리나라 영어 최고수급인 통역대학원 졸업생들도 뉴스를 듣다가 모르는 어휘가 나온다고 합니다..이부분은 너무 상심마시고 꾸준히 표현암기하세요.

2.직청직해부분은 훌륭한거 같으십니다.
3.영화나 드라마의 경우는 심한 구어체 연음과 속도때문에
안들리는 경우가 있습니다..영화나 드라마의 경우는
실제 원어민들도 못듣는 발음이 있다고 합니다..
그런경우 다 문맥과 세상지식으로 추론하는거죠.
참고루..영화나 드라마에 발음 속도는 실제 원어민들
발음보다 빠르다고 합니다
